Classroom management is my favorite subject to talk about as a teacher.
In an interview, I was asked, “What is the difference between a teacher who is constantly sending students to the office and a teacher who has very little problems with students?”
Easy. Consistency in their classroom management.
The more consistent you are with upholding the rules and consequences and rewards, the better your students will be.
When the students realize that you can be played, you are in trouble! The students loose respect for you. They want boundaries and a safe classroom.
Find a system that works for you and BE CONSISTENT. If you realize that a system doesn’t work for you, be consistent with that system until there is a nice break where you can change it up and try something new.
